Sutter Health Surgical Tech On Call Variable Shift in Antioch, California

The Surgical Technician's (ST) principal function is in the scrub role, providing necessary and appropriate equipment, instrumentation, and supplies in the following service areas: Orthopedic Surgery including total joint replacements, Ophthalmic Surgery, ENT/Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Vascular/Thoracic Surgery, Urologic Surgery including cystoscopy and extracoporeal shock wave lithotripsy, Endoscopy and Gynecological Surgery.

· Education/Licensure:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  2. Completion of Surgical Technician training program or equivalent in prior experience as a Surgical Tech is required.

· Experience:

  1. Recent Operating Room experience in an acute care facility with competence to function in scrub role.

· Knowledge:

  1. Certification by the Association of Surgical Technicians is preferred.

  2. BCLS certification required.

· Special Skills/Equipment:

  1. Demonstrated skill in the Orthopedics, Ophthalmic, ENT/Plastic, General, Vascular/Thoracic, Urology, Gynecology and G.I.

  2. Must be able to flex schedule and take call as assigned.
