Sutter Health Neurodiagnostic Technician (Full-time, Days / Evenings) in Sacramento, California

*POSITION SUMMARY*

TheNeurodiagnostic Technicianperforms non-invasive cortical neurophysiological testing with minimal supervision, in accordance with physician's orders and historical information.



Principal Accountabilities:*

  • Assists with training and maintaining competency records for all staff throughout the hospital in Neurodiagnosticprocedures.

  • Ensure the efficient delivery of quality, cost effective clinical Neurodiagnostic Services.

  • Participates actively in the promotion and standardization of the service line.

  • Performs Neurodiagnostic testing procedures.

_MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENT_


*Education: *

  • A high school diploma required.

  • Must have BLS Healthcare provider certification required.

  • Training in a Neurodiagnostic educational program or an AA degree in allied health or Natural Sciences preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

*Experience: *

  • Must have significant experience in an acute care setting, performing procedures on infant, pediatric and adultpatients and experience in performing EKGs is desired.

*Knowledge: *

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, of the neurology system. Knowledge of electroneurologictesting and associated equipment.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with TJC (The Joint Commission) accreditationstandards.

Skills:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able towork in a fast-paced and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.

  • Must be able tounderstand, read and write the English language.
