Sutter Health RCS Business Analyst I in Sacramento, California

The Business Analyst I is responsible for working directly with business unit personnel in defining and establishing business and end user requirements for existing and new business application systems. This individual will develop a good working relationship with end user organizations, including client staff, and will function as the end users' representative for application feature additions, changes and deletions from conception to implementation, while working with the management team to assure delivery expectations are satisfied.

A. Education 1. Associates Degree, plus two years of experience working in a Healthcare Information System, OR 2. Equivalent combination of education and experience with specialized coursework in computer science, management information systems or healthcare 3. Epic certification (Ambulatory) preferred; if not certified, must obtain certification within six months of hire B. Experience/Knowledge: 1. 1-2 years working with physician & patient facing software application/tools (Epic Ambulatory) preferred 2. 1-3 years systems analysis and development experience helpful 3. 1-3 years experience with systems testing and implementation helpful 4. Intermediate PC experience with Windows and its applications (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, E-mail) 5. 1-3 years experience in customer service required C. Skills: 1. Familiarity with current Web terms, concepts and tools such as: Portal, Site, Portlets, Web Parts, Mashup, UXP, etc, preferred 2. Working knowledge of web portals and websites, system architecture preferred 3. Demonstrated ability to test web-based applications strongly preferred 4. Knowledge of graphic web design preferred 5. Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and spoken 6. Ability to think critically, utilizing logical thought processes and ability to learn new systems, concepts and procedures 7. Ability to work well independently, able to take initiative and make decisions, as well as able to work with others in a team environment to achieve desired results 8. Able to coordinate multiple activities effectively 9. Able to prioritize as necessary to complete projects on time 10. Able to make sound operational decisions based on acquired knowledge and Management direction 11. Must be detail oriented and able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment 12. Able to work with other SPS and Sutter Health departments and staff 13. Must be able to demonstrate creative and imaginative problem-solving skills 14. Able to apply technical solutions to solve problems 15. Extensive use of personal computers, terminals and Microsoft Office 16. Able to maintain confidentiality 17. Willingness and ability to be directly involved in all aspects of internal support
