Sutter Health Echocardiography Technologist - Per Diem in Santa Rosa, California
The Registered Cardiac Sonographer/Echocardiographer performs quality echocardiographic studies as ordered by the physicians as well as the performance of all other non-invasive cardiac procedures within the Cardiology Department. These services further the mission of Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital, which is to provide high quality, healthcare for the people in the communities we serve. The candidate will Demonstrates proficiency by performing routine and emergency echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, 3- dimensional, 4- dimensional, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physician and in accordance with standard practices. Provides echocardiography service at all necessary locations, working variable shifts, weekends, and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled. Operate equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recording; utilize ancillary devices such as selected transducers, digital networking system, off-line analysis systems. Maintain equipment in working order, making minor adjustments and repairs. Perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and report any equipment malfunction. Prepares preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologist, including comparison of previous studies. Participate in quality improvement activities; evaluate procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintain appropriate logs, files, and records. Review department performance in relation to established goals, implementing changes to effect outcomes. Maintain confidentiality of patients, employees and corporation-related activities. Instruct students, fellows, nurses, or health personnel as requested. Communicates technical and patient care related information according to established processes and timelines. Attends Echo Lab Meetings, participates in Echo related conferences through attendance, ensuring continuing education and professional growth. Cultivates a collaborative and cooperative work environment within department.
Associate's Degree in healthcare related field
Completion of Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Training Program
Completion of a recognized course in arrhythmia detection
Six months experience as a registered echocardiographer with ARDMSortwo years experience as a registered echocardiographer without ARDMS required.
Experience in other aspects of non-invasive testing to include CCVT preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Must have intermediate proficiency in the following:
Ability to perform quality and complete echocardiogram studies and possess excellent organizational skills to perform in a fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of other departmental procedures and equipment
A bility to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Basic computer skills to perform data entry (beginner proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications:
- Licensed in one or more of the following:
o American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - ARDMS
o Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - RDCS
o Registered Cardiac Sonographer - RCS
- Basic Life Support Certification - BLS
