Sutter Health Physical Therapist II - Short Hour - Day Shift in Berkeley, California
Sutter Health’s Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is the San Francisco East Bay Area’s largest private, not-for-profit medical center, with a total of 920 licensed beds. This position supports the rehabilitation team in our beautiful 58-bed facility at the Summit campus, featuring a 12,000 square-foot treatment space, state-of-the-art therapy equipment, all patient private rooms and an outdoor therapy garden. Our services are provided to individuals who range from early to late adulthood and have diagnoses of stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, progressive neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, amputations, cancer and complex medical conditions.
Our Acute Rehabilitation program is CARF accredited since 1993, having received numerous awards for our comprehensive integrated inpatient rehabilitation program. In addition, we are recognized for our CARF-accredited specialty programs, including stroke and brain injury.
The Physical Therapist provides services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction. Such encompasses evaluation and analysis of patients and therapeutic applications of physical and chemical agents, exercise and other procedures to maximize functional independence. The Physical Therapist functions as a member of the Rehabilitation Team. Persons served range from adolescence to late adulthood in Acute Care.
In addition to the minimum qualifications and essential job functions, each employee shall meet established age and skill specific competencies. Skill competencies requiring additional development will be identified in the first year of employment and addressed annually in the employee's performance plan.
Graduate of approved Physical Therapist curriculum with either a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate Degree or Certificate in Physical Therapy.
In accordance with the Career Ladder, has a minimum of 2 years at ABSMC with an "Exceeds Expectations" on prior performance evaluation. May "fast track" into PT II position with 3 years experience in a comparable setting at a prior medical facility.
Licensure or Certification:
Current California State PT License
Current Basic Life Support Certification - HealthCare Provider - BLS-HCP
Strength and coordination necessary for lifting patients, pushing wheelchairs, gurneys, and beds. See attached "Physical work Conditions check List" for specific physical requirements.
