Sutter Health Coordinator, Community Health-South Bay in Burlingame, California

The Community Health Coordinator, under the direction of the Community Health Manager and Director of Community Health, coordinates the Bay/Valley operating unit Community Benefit initiatives, including investments and budget tracking, leads meetings with community partners, manages CBISA reporting, manages reporting to local governments as necessary, manages sponsorship activation, drafts award submissions, memorandums of understanding and oversees outcomes and metrics reporting for the community grants program, writes the Community Health Needs Assessment(s) and Implementation plans, presentation development and projects directed by the Community Health Manager. The Community Health Coordinator will serve as a liaison between Sutter Health and appropriate community collaboratives, and will coordinate initiatives set by the Community Health Manager that address community health needs as identified in Community Needs Assessment.

Key to this position will be a person who can work autonomously, once given the direction and who can help create meaningful community benefit program investments. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, an analytical thinking.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's in Public Policy or a related field, or equivalent experience required or equivalent education/experience.

Experience

3-5 years demonstrated experience in working with local community organizations, including development and implementation of strategic plans and implementation of programs is required.

3-5 years strong attention to detail, proficient organizational skills, and analytical thinker required.

3-5 years prior experience in community & government relations Required

3-5 years ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines required.

3-5 years professional experience working with local community organizations and collaborative government and/or community improvement projects is a plus.

3-5 years experience leveraging and connecting an organizations and coalition building preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

Demonstrated ability to work with volunteer community groups is preferred.

Ability to rapidly assimilate and synthesize information and thrive in an evolving environment

knowledge of public policy, the political process, government and community affairs and event coordination is required. A significant understanding of community-based organizations would be an asset.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software required and limited knowledge of Microsoft Access and Adobe PageMaker preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication required.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction required.

Demonstrated ability to work with financial reports, track financial data and evaluate metrics.

Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive and accurate technical documents.
