Sutter Health Radiology Technologist I (Per Diem) in Burlingame, California

Description

The radiologic technologist I performs routine radiographic and fluoroscopy procedures in accordance with established rules of good practice and policies and procedures.

Principal accountabilities include:

  • Has good knowledge of positioning, technical factors, clinical information and correct marking and labeling of films.

  • Ensures that radiation doses for patients remain within safe ALARA limits.

  • Follows radiation safety best practices.

  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge necessary to assess the age specific needs of the patients served, and provide appropriate care.

  • Performs radiographic procedures including but not limited to basic xray, Operating Room, and fluoro procedures or is training to advance to CT or Interventional Radiology Technologist

  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and meets certification criteria for CEU's.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal two-year course in an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.

  • CRT Certified by the state of California as a Radiologic Technologist.

  • New Graduates may apply upon confirmed ARRT Registry, may not work until proof of CRT certified by the state of California as a Radiologic Technologist

  • Certified by the state of California in Fluoroscopy within 3 months of employment.

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

  • Current BLS (AHA) certification.

  • Knowledge of PACs and EPIC including registration, scheduling, ordering, charging, and reports as required to carry out job assignment

  • Verbal and written communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients and patient families; requires patience and compassion

  • Critical thinking skills as it relates to specialized departments this may include the ability to complete age –appropriate assessments

  • Basic computer skills to include keyboarding and data entry skills to enter information into electronic health records

  • Ability to lift and position patients properly using best practices.

  • Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions.

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods.

  • Able to handle varying procedures and interruptions.

  • Ability to work with others in a flexible and cooperative manner.
