Sutter Health RN - Med/Surg - Davis (Per Diem) in Davis, California



The Registered Nurse in the Acute Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge/skills.



Education including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BS preferred.

  • Current licensure California RN or Interim Permitee

  • BLS - Healthcare Provider required.

Experience: Acute care experience is preferred.

Knowledge: Demonstrate basic medical/surgical nursing skills. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrate basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient population is preferred.


Independently practices and prioritizes multiple demands in an ever-changing environment. Good interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and teamwork skills are required. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Unit specific:

  • Completion of Medical-Surgical Unit orientation.

  • Demonstrates competency in:

  • Respiratory therapy treatments.

  • Chest tube

  • Care of patient with PCA

  • Management of epidural

  • Skin wound management

  • Airway management

  • Central venous pressure monitoring
