Sutter Health Compliance Program Manager, Research in Emeryville, California

This position is dedicated to the clinical research programs across Sutter Health and is not limited to any single affiliate. Its span of responsibility covers all regions of the organization and could potentially require travel to various areas across Sutter Health’s market.

The Compliance Program Manager will assist and support the affiliate Compliance Officer with oversight and monitoring of the corporate compliance functions for their respective Sutter Health affiliate organization. Working under the direction of the Compliance Officer, the primary focus will be to:

  • Assist with coordination, implementation and evaluation of the Compliance Plan;

  • Partner with management to conduct compliance risk assessments, to develop compliance policies and procedures

  • Assist in the conduct of internal investigations;

  • Develop and coordinate related education and training activities to ensure they promote an institutional culture favorable to compliance and;

  • Assist with monitoring and auditing activities under the compliance plan.

Qualifications

Education, Certification, and Licensure

A Bachelor's degree preferably in a health related field required; Masters Degree or Juris Doctor degree preferred.

This position will requrie that the candidate hold a certification in healthcare research compliance (CHRC). Certification is required within 12 months of hire.

Required Experience

A minimum of three (3) years experience in health sciences research administration or comparable setting is preferred.

Required Knowledge

Knowledge of healthcare clinical operations, hospital revenue cycle systems, healthcare billing & coding requirements, or other healthcare compliance issues.

Knowledge or training in healthcare compliance strongly desired.

Knowledge of health sciences research management operations, health sciences research compliance, health sciences research regulatory operations, health care clinical operations, hospital revenue cycle systems, healthcare billing and coding and/or other research or healthcare compliance requirements is required.

OR

Knowledge of health sciences research management operations, health sciences research compliance, or health sciences regulatory operations are strongly desired.

Required Skills

  • Strong judgment, interpersonal and communication skills required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of staff, including clerical staff, peers, physicians and senior management.

  • Requires demonstrated excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrate ability to organize, plan and coordinate work flow of others, and to work effectively with managers to achieve compliance with objectives.

  • Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive material, and exercise good judgment as it relates to handling of sensitive material.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint & Excel preferred.
