Sutter Health Regional Administrative Director - Ambulatory, Solano in Fairfield, California


The Regional Administrative Director, in partnership with medical group leadership, is responsible for all operational performance of assigned business units, consisting of multiple care centers in a defined geographic or medical specialty area, plus management of the Facilitates Management and Materials Management functions.


Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare management or other related field and/or registered nursing degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters degree preferred.

Experience: 7 + years progressive management experience in healthcare setting with at least 2 years in managing multiple care center operations. Demonstrated expertise in financial management, strategic and operational planning, and developing, implementing and monitoring new and exiting programs, processes and practices. Proven experience in developing and maintaining physicians relationships. Expertise in lending management and multi-disciplinary teams in the achievement of company goals. Ability to communicate clearly to all levels of the organization; recognizing the diverse needs of patients, physicians, staff and the multiple Sutter affiliates. Demonstrated experience in project and construction management to include the development, planning, budget and design of medical offices and ancillary services, including existing buildings that may require major renovation. Sufficient experience to provide oversight management of materials management operations and facilities management.

Knowedge: Knowledge of scope of practice issues and care center operations. Knowledge of regulatory standards (DHS, OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, IMQ). Knowledge of all aspects of the practice management environment. Knowledge of Business Plan development, space/area planning and the implementation operational systems. Knowledge of implementing and leading quality improvement programs and initiatives. Knowledge of facilities construction and renovation to include planning, budgeting and operations management/consultation with assigned vendors and Sutter Health Representatives.

Special Skills/Equipment: Analytical skills sufficient to forecast project trends and make appropriate changes. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, senior management, managers and care center staff. Knowledge of physician office operations and reimbursement procedures. Skill building consensus within teams. Skill in writing concise, logical, objective proposals and to develop and deliver oral presentations to provide information, motive, and to influence decision-making and formulate action for change. Skill in determining the time, place, and sequence of actions to accomplish a task (protect management). Personal computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets and database management. Familiarity with non-PC based MIS systems used to support ambulatory medical practices including billing, accounts receivable, scheduling, general ledger, etc. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to provide recommendations for strategic planning regarding facilities renovation or new construction.
