Sutter Health Polysomnographic Technician- Fremont (Per Diem) in Fremont, California
A Polysomnographic Technician performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of a supervising physician and surgeon, polysomnographic technologist or other licensed health care professional. Polysomnographic Technicians may provide supportive services, including but not limited to gathering and verifying patient information, testing preparation and monitoring, documenting routine observations, data acquisition and scoring, and may implement appropriate interventions for patient safety.
Collects patient vitas, explains and prepares for the procedure and orients the patient to the sleep center.
Implements appropriate interventions including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as mask fitting, continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.
Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs (physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status, pertinent medical/social history).

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Current registration with the Medical Board of California as a Polysomnographic Technician or current registration with the Medical Board of California as a Respiratory Care Practioner or Respiratory Therapist.
Current AHA BLS/CPR certification
Completion or current enrollment in a polysomnography program associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility.
A minimum of 6 months experience as a Polysomnographic Trainee with documented in all required competencies.
Comply with BRPT standards of conduct
Must successfully complete training and certifications required to become a Polysomnographic Technologist within 18 months of hire.
Travel between work locations within the bay area may be required
Workking nights shifts may be required
Documentated participation in an average of 10 hours per year of AMA Category 1 CME or CEC sleep -related educational activities over a three year period.
