Sutter Health Cook-Nutrition Services- Menlo Park Surgical Hospital-On Call/Per Diem in Menlo Park, California
Under general supervision, prepares meals, entrees for patients, guest and staff. Compiles menu orders & follows recipes. Prepares food for special functions; follows manager’s instructions on food products, quantities & utilization. Washes dishes and small wares, sanitizes equipment. Completes area sanitation & other related duties. Assures specific department activities meet or exceed all regulatory agencies’ standards. Assists in food inventories, receives and stores products. Has knowledge of, supports & participates in current Joint Commission-recommended Patient Safety Goals.
Prepares hot food items, daily special entrees & other food items in a timely manner, following recipes & assuring that taste, texture, appearance & temperature are within acceptable limits & foods served comply with patients’ diet orders, allergies & preferences
Reviews all daily menus & catering orders.
Receives product deliveries checking for accuracy and quality, and stores products according to established procedures
Maintains food stuffs at proper temperatures and utilizes or stores all foods are according to department standards
Maintains cook’s areas, equipment and service ware in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition
Personally responds to all concerns/complaints and takes immediate corrective action
Serves guest with courtesy & efficiency.
Follows the commitment to excellence and treats patients, families, visitors and each other with courtesy, dignity, respect and professionalism
High School Diploma or Equivalent
California Food Handler/Safefty Certificate
One year hotel, fine dining restaurant, catering, hospital, or combination thereof cooking experience.
Demonstration of excellent cooking/display abilities.
Culinary School or Hotel Restaurant School graduate
