Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with Sutter Health. Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Section Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of the area they are assigned to in addition to supporting the GMG, Inc. Section Chief for their area. This position reviews the effectiveness of day to day operations to ensure work is completed and manages the performance of employees. This position is responsible to create and manage staff schedules to assures appropriate levels of resources are available to provide appropriate patient care. Promotes teamwork with providers and employees to create a cohesive, effective team that meets the standards of patient care delivery. This position leads activities to achieve organizational goals, in partnership with their assigned GMG leader(s). This position works collaboratively with the Section Chief to meet and improve dashboard measures and other key strategic initiatives through data analysis, interpretation and recommendations for change. This position is responsible for achieving section level performance metrics through they dyad relationship and Lean methodology. This position is responsible for on-boarding new clinicians and the on-going support to ensure a successful clinical practice. position develops departmental capital and operational budgets and is responsible for the business performance of the section. . Participates in activities as they impact area supervised. Recommends and contributes to the development of policies and procedures, budget, interdepartmental communication related to operations supervised. This position requires travel to meetings and training throughout the SH South Valley Region as well as SH meetings held in locations outside of the SH South Valley area.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Associate degree in business or nursing required or an equivalent combination of education and pertinent/directly related experience (4 years).

  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a medical setting

  • Able to travel through the Sutter Health South Valley area as well as to Sutter Health meetings held outside of the south valley

  • Able to work PM or weekend shifts for a required special project or emergency situation

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated ability to use data effectively

  • Experience utilizing the tools of lean process improvement

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of medical office workflow's and processes.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Knowledge of computers and their applications.

  • Knowledge of electronic medical records.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

SKILLS:

  • Proven leadership skills are required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language are required.

  • The ability to motivate and train adults.

  • The ability to deal effectively with all customers including physicians and difficult customer service issues.

  • The ability to accept, implement and evaluate change.
