Under the general direction of the director of clinical development and training and the coordinator of the Medical Assistant (MA) Residency program, the LVN Trainer is an integral member of the education and training team for the PAMF MA Residency Program. The LVN Trainer assists in the assessment of the educational and training needs, provides prepared education and training materials, assists in the competency assessments, and provide on-site follow-up of the MAs engaged in the MA Residency Program. Assists in the on-going evaluation and participates in revisions of the program. Assists in the implementation and evaluation of courses to ensure and maintain the continuing professional competence of medical assistants and licensed vocational nurses based on Scopes of Practice. Assists in competency assessments of MAs and LVNs as needed. Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of courses and learning sessions for non-clinical members of the care team as requested and/or needed. Utilizes principles of adult learning in all aspects of educational activities.

Qualifications

Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Medical Assistant Residency Program including providing classroom instruction and competency assessment, providing on-site follow-up and competency assessment, and supporting the medical assistants engaged in the program

Job Requirements:

  • Current LVN license

  • Current AHA/BLS certificates

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of recent experience as a LVN

  • Ability to transfer bodies of knowledge to others in both a classroom and one-on-one setting

  • Strong verbal/written communication and active listening skills; including excellent interpersonal skills and telephone communication

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word applications

  • Exceptional organization skills with ability to handle and be accountable for multiple priorities in a timely manner with little direct supervision

  • Willingness to travel to different PAMF locations
