Sutter Health Surgical Technologist - Summit Campus (Full Time, Day) in Oakland, California
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Surgical Technologist I participates as a member of the perioperative team. The Surgical Technologist I performs direct and indirect perioperative tasks for patients having surgical and endoscopy procedures and assists anesthesia personnel. The primary focus of this position is the scrub person role. The staff member in this position must be able to participate in the planning and provision of perioperative care for patients in adolescence, early, middle and late adulthood. The Surgical Technologist I works on a flexible schedule as assigned by the Patient Care Manager. Weekend shifts are assigned on a rotating basis.
HS Diploma required or equivalent education/experience.
Diploma from an accredited surgical technology program or documented on-the-job training program required.
Licensures and Certifications
Certified Surgical Technician - CST preferred
Basic Life Support Certification - BLS required
Ability to work in fast-paced, demanding environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Entry-level position with requirement to advance to Surgical Technologist II within 1 year from date of hire.
