The Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. The Sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, diseases and new procedures as they evolve.
Obtained a registry credential of RDCS through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or an RCS through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Graduated from an accredit program by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP).
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer-Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-PE).
Over one year of experience or part time equivalent in performing Pediatric Echocardiograms, . (5+ years if position is Sono II).
Proficient in the use of digital PACS systems for reporting, measuring and calculations.
Develops preliminary reports and identifies critical findings to reading cardiologist.
In depth knowledge of IAC and ASE guidelines and work experience at an IAC accredited facility preferred.
