Sutter Health Food Services Assistant - Nutrition & Food Services (Per Diem - Varied) in Roseville, California



Performs food preparation and storage, serving of meals and snacks, cleaning and storing of dishes, utensils, pots, and general department sanitation. May be assigned to tray line, cafeteria, dish room, host/hostess, or catering or may be assigned to relieve in other areas. Recording of data is a part of this position. Food products require very simple preparation.Performs a wide variety of physical & manual tasks related to thepreparation and serving of food as well as clean up of any and all tools and work areas.

Principal Accountabilities

And, any and all other duites as assigned.

Attractively assemble patient trays with clean, dry, non-chipped dishes and utensils.

Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, equipment and other kitchen area according to department standards Deliver patient trays within time frame specified by department policy.

Follows department safety and sanitation standards including proper use of chemicals and personal protective equipment.

Follows Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines for preparing and serving foods.

May be assigned to stock, serve, replenish foods in cafeteria, tray line or catering areas.

Meets dashboard goal for full performance of patient satisfaction.

Sutter Lakeside: Position may be assigned as cashier. Demonstrates knowledge of/ ability to: •Properly

balance cash drawer before beginning to ring sales. •Accurately ring sales, including discounts, with minimal

variance (+/- $5.00) from Net Sales Amount taken from register reading. •Follow SLH policy on discounts,

pricing and coupons and rings sales accordingly. •Accurately complete daily cashier's report.



Education/Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:

High School graduation or equivalent.


Individual exceptions will be made if the applicant has had a work history demonstrating the ability to perform in a similar position. Must be able to read, write and speak English as well as understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions. Must have sufficient mathematical ability to perform basic measurement and portioning activities including increasing and decreasing recipes.


Entry-level position. Previous food service experience desired.


Ability to meet established deadlines and multi-task in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.
