Sutter Health Account Executive - Bay Area - Sutter Health Plus in Sacramento, California


The Account Executive is responsible for promoting and selling Sutter Health Plan products to brokers and General Agents. Implements sales activities and is responsible for achieving sales objectives and increasing sales and gross revenue. Generates enrollment leads and referrals; conversion of leads and referrals to support enrollment of eligible consumers into the Sutter Health Plan.


Education :

BA/BS degree in Business or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. Maintains a current Life & Health insurance license from the State of California.

Required Experience:

Degree in business with at least 5-7 years of experience in the health insurance or employee benefit industry and experience in sales are required. Experience in a supervisory or managerial position.

Required Knowledge:

Must have a broad working understanding of employer benefit/group health program design, business data and contact manager databases, healthcare, and employer health care needs and issues. Sufficient understanding of the demographic composition and geographic disbursement of the eligible population to implement successful system-wide and area-specific marketing and sales strategies. Proven ability to implement successful strategic initiatives that adapt to changing market environments that support broker retention and community relations.

Required Skills:

Expertise in being able to execute on designed plans and strategies that will enable growth of Sutter Health Plan products and services. Collaboration and team work skills are critical to the success of this position. Expertise in communication, public speaking, strong project management and negotiation skills are required. Must be skilled in relationship building. Must have effective computer skills, including use of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs. Maintains a current Life & Health insurance license from the State of California. Position will be managed to monthly and/or quarterly sales targets.
