The Sutter Health Valley Area Project and Accreditation Manager is responsible for leading the Oncology Service Line's project management activities and accreditation efforts with the American College of Surgeons ACoS),National Accreditation Program of Breast Centers (NAPBC) and all other cancer program accreditations.The Service Line's projects and accreditation efforts are complex in nature from conception through completion delivery ensuring scope and time lines are achieved in a compliant high quality manner.This work will often have multiple facets and work teams to produce approved deliverables.Complex milestones and critical pathway are developed so projects comprehensively addresses meeting the needs of our patients and stakeholders.The Sutter Health Valley Area Project and Accreditation Manager is responsible for timely delivery of intermediate and final project elements including accreditation with both organizations. He or she must ensure all participants are on track with agreed upon elements for objective completion including executives and physician leadership.
The Sutter Health Valley Area Project and Accreditation Manager functions as a disciplined leader, planner, scheduler, and project team member for oncology service line working in sync with VOIT priorities through the steering committee and supportive workgroups and subcommittees.This position is an advocate for the Valley Oncology Service Line and area affiliates.The overall objective is to improve clinical integration, implementation of best practices and efficiency of care delivery through the implementation of oncology service line projects and compliance with two of our major accrediting bodies across the Valley Operating Unit.
Within the Sutter Health Valley Area Oncology Service Line, the SHVA Project & Accreditation Manager is responsible for the coordination and execution of the oncology service line accreditation activities including measuring, monitoring, trending, facilitating, initiating, providing leadership, and education of performance improvement activities practices and principles. Ongoing dashboard completion will be the responsibility of the Oncology Service Line's Administrative Supervision with direction from the SHVA Project and Accreditation Manager.In addition, this position is responsible for the ongoing assessment of identified quality metrics, ensuring adequate interventions for improvement when needed.
The SHVA Project & Accreditation Manager serves as a resource to clinical and administrative leaders in the interpretation and application of accreditation standards, facilitating quality improvement teams assuring the implementation of strong quality improvement strategies using proven quality methods, tools/techniques.Initiates, coordinates and implements performance improvement projects to meet regulatory agency standards.
The Sutter Health Area Project and Accreditation Manager provides input to the service line executive, medical directors and key stakeholders to promote and enhance the achievement of stated annual objectives.
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education/experience required.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Licensures and Certifications:
- Project Management Professional – PMP (or in process and achieved within nine (9) months of start date) required.
Minimum of three (3) years of project manager experience required.
Oncology service line accreditation experience preferred.
Previous experience with Lean methodologies and process as well as performance improvement preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Relevant work experience is typically acquired in six (6) to eight (8) years within the health care industry.
Knowledge of general Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK), Lean Principles, and project management methodology is required.
Thorough understanding of current trends and strategies in healthcare is desired.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, duties, and assignments simultaneously in a rapidly changing environment and meet scheduled deadlines is essential.
