Sutter Health Regional Perinatal Programs Manager - Women's & Children's Services (Part-Time, Day Shift) in Sacramento, California



The Regional Perinatal Programs (RPP) Manager influences cooperation in developing common goals to improve perinatal outcomes across all hospital systems, physicians, nurse managers among 56 hospitals in a twenty-five country region. Develops evidence-based clinical competencies, analysis of outcomes for perinatal care, and system and clinical processes to improve perinatal outcomes at each facility and within the region. Promotes quality assurance standards, and development of policies, procedures, and standards of care for facilities and providers in the region.

The RPP Manager provides supervision, budgetary and direct program coordination, planning and evaluation of the Northeastern California Perinatal Outreach Program (NCPOP) and the East Bay Perinatal Outreach Program. This position functions as a community resource to hospitals providers, public health departments and health plans regarding providsion of perinatal care in northern California.

This position also supervises the Doula Program at Sutter Davis. The incumbent provides lead program administratin for the First Five grant and coordinates with the other colleagues in the department to assure program compliance and appropriate inviocing.




  • Master's degree in Nursing with a clinical or education focus preferred or health related field required.

  • R.N. licensure in California required.


  • Prior leadership experience in high-risk obstetrics, maternal-fetal medicine and/or neonatal medicine/pediatric care is required.

  • Prior working experience in teaching is preferred.

  • Experience in coordinating collaborative meetings is preferred.

  • Program planning and supervision experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of the State legislative process and budget and experience performing public policy analysis is preferred.


  • Knowledge of quality improvement methods is required.

  • Knowledge of clinical perinatal care in ambulatory and/or inpatient settings is required.

  • Knowledge clinical standards and guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Academy of Pediatrics, California Children's Services, and Title XXII is preferred.

  • Knowledge of California State Maternal and Child Health services and perinatal service delivery systems in northeastern California is preferred.

  • Knowledge of adult learning theory required.

Special Skills / Equipment

  • Ability to perform perinatal data analysis and provide recommendations to maternity hospital health professionals is preferred.

  • Ability to utilize computer spreadsheet, word processing and presentation softward preferred.

  • Demonstration of effective interpersonal and nursing leadership skills.

  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

  • Ability to travel within region and statewide on at least a weekly basis.

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires intermittent or prolonged periods of walking, standing, and sitting in multiple areas of various hospitals.

  • Ability to adapt to a wide variety of physical requirements

  • Must have access to transportation and ability to attend metting as needed at various locations.

  • Flexible hours of work are required.
