The Staff Internal Auditor (the "Auditor") is responsible for assisting in advancing the mission of the Internal Audit & Process Improvement Department (the "Department") in a manner consistent with the values and standards of the Department and the internal audit profession. The Auditor is responsible for familiarizing themselves with the annual work plan, researching relevant topics to carry out assigned project areas and fostering important strategic relationships with other Sutter Health Support Services' functions. The Auditor will also participate in improving the efficient and effective delivery of the Department's assurance and consulting services including promoting the Internal Audit & Process Improvement brand.

The preferred candidate will demonstrate a strong operational background, a desire to improve existing processes, have an innate understanding of leadership principles and their application, internalize the department vision, and take a client focused approach on every engagement.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or other Business Administration area required.

Licensure and Certificates

Certified Public Accountant - CPA preferred

Certified Internal Auditor - CIA preferred

Experience

3-5 years of Progressive experience in internal audit, public accounting, consulting or healthcare finance or business office required.

0-2 years of experience should include assisting or leading team audits required.

3-5 years as Auditor must have a firm understanding of audit theory and processes and of the professional practice standards of internal auditing as well as core control frameworks required.

0-2 years experience in healthcare preferred.

0-2 years knowledge of internal audit leading practices and computerized auditing techniques preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

The Auditor must display a high degree of professionalism and leadership and possess proficient organizational, analytical and project management skills.

Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal and presentation skills.

Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access.

VISIO or other flowcharting tool.
