Sutter Health Supervisor, Patient Access Solutions in Salt Lake City, Utah
The Supervisor, Patient Service Center supports and supervises the Patient Service Center front line functions, including the patient registration, scheduling, eligibility, My Health Online support and staff.This position supports the Patient Service Center leadership.
- AA or BA degree in communication, business or healthcare administration, or liberal arts OR equivalent experience in a service industry management position highly desired
Minimum 3-5 years experience in a customer service business office setting, preferably in a medical specialty practice, with directly transferable skills required
2 years experience performing supervisory work or other leadership role preferred
Experience with service center operations highly desired
Working knowledge of managed care, Medi-Cal, and Medicare eligibility, authorization and billing requirements a plus.
Knowledge of medical billing, terminology, CPT and ICD-9 coding a plus
Able to interpret various contracts and health plans
Must have demonstrated ability to work in a highly complex environment, able to communicate with clients (including patients, clinicians and physicians) effectively
Demonstrated ability to remain professional, even when working through difficult situations
Demonstrated ability to effectively research and resolve issues, including patient financial accounts, scheduling and registration
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, Access or similar programs.
