Sutter Health Community Health Manager - San Francisco in San Francisco, California
The Community Health Manager designs and implements the strategic and ongoing development in a defined geographic area to provide health care programs and other services to the vulnerable populations as identified through the operating units Community Health Needs Assessment. The position manages multiple projects and resources to include leading and securing funds for community health programs/initiatives, and coordinating and managing all community benefit activities in alignment with system and operating unit goals, and the system External Affairs organization. in a defined geographic area that advance the Sutter's community based, not-for-profit mission.
The Community Health Manager develops and maintains relationships with key community and business leaders, across various communities and issue areas, and identifies potential collaborative partners/efforts aimed to positively impact the community. Identifies, plans, coordinates, implements, monitors and evaluates effective community programs and direct service partnerships that aim to improve community health, support the under-served and advance Sutter Health's reputation in the community and not-for-profit mission.
This position manages the active engagement of program implementation, assists with budget development, as well as program evaluation within the assigned geography. This position reports to the Director of Community Health Programs, and has a team of 1-3 Coordinators and/or Analyst in the delivery of the programs in the assigned geography.
Bachelor's in Public Policy, Public Health or Public Administration, or a related field Required Or equivalent education/experience
Must have 7-plus years professional experience in community health, government relations, public relations, and community relations arena which demonstrates positive professional relationships with local elected and appointed officials.
6-9 years experience in evaluating and analyzing data and making strategic recommendations based on data analysis required.
6-9 years professional experience working with local community organizations, government officials and collaborative community health improvement projects required.
7-plus years significant related experience in community relations required and experience in government relations preferred.
Must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Skills and Knowledge
A working knowledge of the strategic planning process as well as demonstrated ability to work with volunteer community group is preferred.
Must have a significant understanding of community-based organizations and local and statewide Foundations and government agencies.
Knowledge of public relations and event coordination is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software required and limited knowledge of Microsoft Access and Adobe PageMaker preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with executives and senior management teams.
