Performs a wide variety of physical & manual tasks related to the preparation and serving of food as well as clean up of any and all tools and work areas. Performs all food service-related tasks demonstrating a service orientation to fellow employees, clients, staff and customers.
Demonstrates knowledge of/ ability to:
Follow the procedure for picking up menus and assisting patients with menu choices
Accurately assemble patient trays per patient menu
Prescribed diets & what is allowed on each diet including allergies, supplements, substitutions and textures
Deliver patient trays within time frame specified by department policy.
Attractively assemble patient trays with clean, dry, non-chipped dishes & utensils
Clean & restock assigned tray line station, discarding outdated items
Set up, clean & restock cafeteria, discarding outdated items
Proper serving method for Kosher meals
What "NPO" means.
Properly balance cash drawer before beginning to ring sales
Accurately ring sales, including discounts, with minimal variance (+/- $5.00) from Net Sales Amount taken from register reading
Follow CPMC policy on discounts, pricing and coupons and rings sales accordingly
Accurately complete daily cashier's report.
Demonstrates knowledge of/ ability to perform basic operation of all food dispensing equipment, including coffee maker, espresso machine, juice dispensers etc.
Notifies supervisors of any shortages in product in a timely manner.
Demonstrates an understanding of patients' needs and responds with a service-oriented attitude.Utilizes strong customer service skills by: Greeting patients by name, introducing self by name, title & department, smiling, developing rapport with patients.
Checks in with nursing coordinator.
Maintains clean and organized service and seating areas in cafeteria.Demonstrates knowledge of proper methods to present plates correctly and to garnish steam tables in cafeteria.
Attends customer service training.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Some experience in a large volume food production kitchen required
Strong customer service skills required
Requires basic math skills, the ability to read and speak English
