Sutter Health GI Technologist-PAC-Benefitted in San Francisco, California


To assist endoscopy physicians and clinical staff with all supporting tasks in the GI/ Motility Labs. This position reports to the GI Clinical Manager/ Supervisor/ charge nurse and takes direction from the GI/ Motility RN's in the procedure room and the procedure physician.


Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Certified Surgical Technician - CST or GI Tech preferred.

  • BLS required.


  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a Surgical or GI Tech preferred.

  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in supply acquisition, inventory control and supply/ equipment distribution preferred.

  • Operational experience with various computer software and application products required.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and full command of the English language.

  • Operational knowledge of medical terminology and math skills required.

  • Ability to word process/ type 40 words per minute preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and practice excellent body mechanics.

  • Possesses the physical dexterity and perceptual acuity (e.g., visual, hearing, etc.) to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect job requirements.

  • Ability to work under stress, performs multiple tasks simultaneously, and possesses good judgment.

  • Performs duties with minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge and practice of aseptic technique.

  • Professional in appearance and demeanor.
