Sutter Health Lactation Consultant-Newborn Connections-Per Diem in San Francisco, California


Provides breastfeeding consultation and education for both inpatient and out patient breastfeeding families of the hospital and the community.


  • High School diploma or equivalent education/experience required.

  • Intl Board Certified Lactation Consultant - IBCLC certification required.

  • BLS certification required

  • Bachelor's in Nursing, with current California RN license preferred

  • Experience in clinical maternal/child field as typically acquired in three year; two years of which would include working with breastfeeding clients required.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent maternal-infant assessment skills.

  • Knowledge of English language w/strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Training skills required.

  • Basic keyboarding and computer skills.

  • Ability to gather data to complete reports on a timely basis.
