Sutter Health Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric Clinic Whitney Follow-Up (8hr day Pac Campus) - Perdiem in San Francisco, California
This position is responsible for performing a physical exam, neuro screening, obtaining the medical history of infants at the follow up clinic, and meeting with parents to discuss questions about development. The care delivered will be based on theoretical principals and scientific knowledge and within the scope of the California Nurse Practice Act.

This standardized procedure covers the performance of a medical history and physical exam for infants and children in the Whitney Follow-Up Clinic.Abnormal findings are communicated to the HIRIF - High Risk Coordinator and/or referring Pediatrician/Physician.
Team meetings: participates in meetings of clinic staff to review patients, coordinate team input and assure that recommendations are being implemented.
Fills out team flow sheet.
Critical and Analytical Thinking :
Review and interpret reports from various clinic disciplines regarding patient assessments
Technical Skills :
Physical evaluation of patients seen in the Whitney Follow-Up Clinic.
Communication (Oral and Written) :
Team meetings: participate in weekly meetings of clinic staff to review patients, coordinate team input and assure that recommendations are being implemented.
Master’s degree in Nursing.
Current California RN license
Current California Nurse Practitioner License
Furnishing and DEA numbers (maybe required)
Current BLS and ACLS is an asset
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner License - PNP
Credentialed through CPMC Medical Staff Services
Completes initial training/preceptorship with pediatric nurse practitioner credentialed to perform neurologic screen with periodic chart review of documentation by the medical director of the Whitney Clinic. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skill in the performance of a history and physical exam in infants and children.
Excellent clinical skills in assessing high-risk infants.
Knowledge of community resources in order to make recommendations for interventions.
Excellent communication skills to relate to parents.
Strong clinical leadership.
An understanding of the changing health care environment.
5 years clinical experience in pediatrics.
