Sutter Health Senior Project Control Technician II in San Francisco, California


The Senior Project Controls Technician PCT II provides support to the Project Management Delivery team. The PCT II is responsible for accurately entering all data pertaining to the project in to the Project Management System (Projecto) including: budgets, contracts, invoices, schedules, contracts. The PCT II is also responsible for accurate reporting to the Project Delivery Team. This position will assist the Project Manager in the management and coordination of work including the monitoring of project budgets and deliverables, meeting contractual requirements and building/maintaining strong professional relationships with the affiliate client and vendors. The PCT II is also responsible for the completion and monitoring of Project Controls as outlined in the Planning & Delivery Guide (PDG) as well as overall project file maintenance and organization. The PCT II may also assist in project management related duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

The Senior PCT II position will also assist Department Management in the orientation and training of PCT II's throughout the system. The position will assist in leading Financial Meetings with Affiliate Senior Management teams. In addition, the Senior PCT II may be requested to assist with the day to day oversight of department financial operations, including contract management and billing, budget preparation and review.



Bachelor's degree required or equivalent education/experience.


5 to 10 years of experience supporting teams delivering healthcare construction required.

Aptitude in managing special projects required.

Ability to work with groups with divergent views required.

Experience with cost accounting software, transactions and reports required.

Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of project management methodology required.

Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook and demonstrated aptitude to learn new software quickly.

A solid understanding of basic project management procedure.

Knowledge of File Maker pro database or similar strongly desired.

Knowledge of cost accounting or financial system software such as Lawson, Quikbooks, Oracle, or similar.

Strong meeting facilitation and organizational skills.

Critical thinking skills.

Excellent written and verbal communications.

A proven ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to complete projects in a timely manner with little supervision or direction.

Exceptional organization skills with ability to handle multiple priorities in a timely manner with little direct supervision.

Collaborative working style and the ability to develop/sustain productive working relations with key stakeholders across all areas and level of the organization, as well as external consultants.

Must have proficiency with standard office and project management software.
