PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under direct supervision of the program’s Medical/Surgical Director(s) and department physician(s), this position provides a broad range of support to the department in regards to the patients it serves.

Under broad guidance, this position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the pre and post-transplant and disease management patients including, but not limited to: patient medical management, immediate pre-operative assessment/management, post-operative assessment/management, and discharge planning. Participates in providing educational programs regarding transplantation to hospitals, medical specialty units, patient groups and the bay community throughout Northern California.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

General Knowledge and Experience:

BLS certification required Must have current,

active California RN licensure

Minimum of three years clinical experience as a practicing nurse.

Department Specific:

Heart/VAD: Cardiovascular, VAD, ICU and/or Transplant experience required

Kidney: Medsurg, ICU, Dialysis and/or Transplant experience required

Liver: Medsurg, ICU, Dialysis and/or Transplant experience required

Hepatology: 3 years RN experience (Medsurg, Hepatology, ICU preferred

Neuro GI: 3 years RN experience (Medsurg, GI Lab, ICU preferred)

Inpatient: Transplant coordinator experience required
