Description

Under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment at a paraprofessional level, provides and assists in delivering nursing care for assigned patients, with primary behavioral health need focusing on the physiological aspects of patient care and functioning as a member of a nursing care team. Takes into account the need to integrate psychotherapeutic and medical nursing care practices in dealing with patients.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school for vocational nursing or psychiatric technician.

  • Current CA LPT or LVN license.

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification

  • Education or experience relating to psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment preferred.
