Sutter Health Occupational Therapist - Behavioral Health (FT) in San Mateo, California
The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy. The Occupational Therapist organizes and conducts Occupational Therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation for patients with orthopedic, neurologic, cognitive and other disabilities. The OT directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance; facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation and independence. This requires the ability to use multiple assessment tools to determine functional levels and report patient abilities and limitations. The Occupational Therapist has a strong knowledge base in musculoskeletal and neurological dysfunction, as well as surgical interventions. They are able to work with a wide patient population and diagnoses and collaborate in a team environment with other Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists, Physicians, and team members.
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. Masters Degree preferred.
BLS (AHA) certification
Preferred: 1-2 years experience in a BH setting or may consider strong BH practicum experience.
