Description

Under general supervision, performs noninvasive procedures such as Electrocardiograms, Rhythm strips, Stress Echos, cardiopulmonary, vascular testing or any other tests within scope of a Cardiac Lab Technician, as ordered by the physician. Schedules, coordinates, and charges for cardiac and vascular tests.

Performs cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing, such as stress EKG’s, resting EKG’s, treadmill tests, 24-hour holter monitoring, event monitoring, vascular venous studies; documents procedure, processes charges, files reports, and delivers test results to physician according to clinic procedures in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent

  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) Certification upon hire

  • Course work in anatomy and physiology strongly preferred

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with patient/customer service; patient greeting, reception and good telephone skills

  • Minimum six months experience in cardiopulmonary and/or vascular testing may be required by some departments

  • One year experience in cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing preferred

  • One year experience in lower arterial and venous testing preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to perform efficiently in multitask environment

  • Current American Heart Association CPR card
