Sutter Health Endoscopy Technician -SMSC Santa Cruz (Per Diem) in Santa Cruz, California


The Endoscopy Technician works under the direction of the Endoscopy RN and is responsible for decontamination and processing of all instrumentation used during Endoscopy and Pain Service procedures.. Ensures that instrumentation and supplies are available for procedures. Assists with basic nursing procedures necessary to provide care, comfort and safety to patients.

  • Promptly decontaminates instruments and all other reusable items, including scopes and forceps.

  • Appropriately prepares scopes and forceps for steam and Ultra-sonic cleaner according to manufacturers’ directions.

  • Checks instruments and equipment daily for defects or damage and updates staff as needed.

  • Under physician and RN guidance, assists in procedures as directed.



High school graduation or equivalent.



SPT certification

GI Technical Specialist Certification. Within one year from hire date obtains GI Technical Specialist Certification through the SGNA organization.

Certified Nursing Assistant certification
