POSITION SUMMARY:

The Certified Ophthalmic Technician , under general supervision, performs refractions for the ophthalmologist assists in performing minor surgical procedures, greets and identify patients, takes a preliminary history, and, as needed, performs visual fields, takes fundus photographs, dilates pupils, and performs departmental duties to improve patient flow and department function.

Qualifications

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education, including Licensure / Certification / Registration

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required

  • Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician required

  • Current AHA BLS/CPR certificate required

Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician preferred
