Sutter Health Social Worker-Psychiatric/Behavioral Health-Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz, California


The Psychiatric Social Worker (PSW) functions as a professional clinical social worker and an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. In addition to providing evidence-based psychosocial therapies to patients with psychiatric disorders, this social worker evaluates patients, coordinates care, functions as a resource to other clinicians. The PSW must have the capacity to provide care to patients representing a broad range of diagnostic groups and developmental stages, and must be skilled in individual, family, and group interventions. Work environment will include primary care setting—all within a collaborative care model. The Psychiatric Social Worker will work one evening per week.

In collaboration with departmental leadership, this clinician will additionally be asked to participate in the design, development, and implementation of PAMF’s integrated behavioral healthcare program.


  • Masters degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; Or Masters degree in Family Therapy from an accredited program required.

  • Current California LCSW or MFT license required.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the psychiatric service area.

  • Knowledge of community agencies and resources.

  • Knowledge of mandatory reporting requirements.
