A Laboratory Assistant II at Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa is an introductory position in the Clinical Laboratory. The general duties that are completed by individuals in this job class include: 1) phlebotomy procedures on all ages of patients, 2) processing of specimens, 3) registry of patients/specimens, 4) ability to perform in Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa's Outpatient Drawing Station, 5) utilization of the hospital and laboratory information systems, 6) performance of duties in the Microbiology department, 7) performance of front desk duties, 8) assists in the inventory and supply needs of the laboratory. A Laboratory Assistant II must be able to perform under pressure and may be required to work any shift (depending on the department's needs and their training).

Qualifications

Education:

HS Diploma or equivalant education/experience. Successful completion of phlebotomy training. Certififed Phlebotomy Technician Level I - CPT I required.

Experience: One to two or more years of recent experience as a Laboratory Assistant in an acute care hospital setting is required.

Additional Requirements: Must be available to work on weekend and holidays.
