Sutter Health Clinical System Engineer - Shared Services/West Sacramento in West Sacramento, California


The Clinical System Engineer (CSE) applies biomedical engineering knowledge and experience to all aspects of medical equipment usage and service delivery to help ensure that medical equipment used in Sutter Health facilities are safe, effective, reliable, and compliant with regulatory requirements. The CSE supports the Sutter Health Center for Clinical Technology Management (eQuip) management and staff to establish and monitor procedures and practices for maintaining and advancing the quality of medical equipment service delivery. The CSE serves as the biomedical engineering resource for the broad spectrum of medical equipment technologies that exist in Sutter Health facilities or that are under consideration for procurement. The CSE serves the Sutter Health enterprise as an authority for Federal, state, and national regulations that apply to medical equipment use and maintenance. The CSE assists the individual hospital and foundation risk management departments with investigation, regulatory compliance, and avoidance action plan development related to medical equipment adverse events.


Education, Licensures, and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering Or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with Biology Minor required.

• Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering/Clinical Engineering preferred.

• ACCE - American College of Clinical Engineering Certification required. (not required for Master’s degree)


• 3-5 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Or Electrical Engineering with minor in Biology (minor required for EE degree only)

• 6 months -2 years of experience with a Master's Degree in Biomedical or Clinical Engineering preferred.
